General Beauregard Lee

Georgia's most famous groundhog predicted an early spring when he failed to see his shadow. General Beauregard Lee emerged from his tiny white home in Lilburn (near Atlanta). With overcast skies above, no shadow came with him. Beau contradicted his more famous Yankee counterpart, Punxutawney Phil, who saw his shadow after waking up in his Pennsylvania home. Phil drew boos from the thousands who gathered in 17 degree weather when his actions predicted six more weeks of winter.

No biscuit for Phil.

Spring?

The feast day of Saint Brigid is celebrated on February 1st every year. This is traditionally seen as the first day of spring in Ireland. This is because they don't understand the distinctions between the seasons. Weather here involves tiny, almost imperceptable fluctuations in 1. cold, wet and windy or 2. colder, wetter and gale force wind. Foliage, another sign of the changing season across the rest of the world, is of little help to the inhabitants of this oceanic rock, as there are hardly any trees (having all been cut down through the ages to build ships for the British).
In conclusion - I'm cold.

Random European Places and ME

It's me!! That's the theme of this episode on channel ME.
Here I am in Venice. I'm very hot and want to slap all the "foreigners". And believe it or not, had no idea this picture was being taken (probably why I like it).

I had ice cream soon after.
No slapping was perpetrated. But I did have odd tan lines due to the lacey design on my top.

Geneva

Up a bell tower being muppetty.
The bells started ringing and I thought I was going to die, and not in the funny sense. Not cool.

ROME

that is all

All deep and broody in Florence

On the terrace below the infamous casino in Monaco

Cann. (there are nakedy people behind me....also large panda sand sculptures in doing dirty things to each other)

It's a little breezy...

Coast of France near Marseille

That dress was stolen from my hotel room in Rome at a later date... bitter thoughts...

Introductions

Here I am! I'm starting this blog to record some new beginnings in old stomping grounds. I'm returning to my home and my homeland. I've been living abroad in Ireland for over a year and now I'm getting ready to head home to Virginia, and I'm bringing someone with me....Someone pretty important - my finace' Paddy!

This adorable Irishman is the fella I'm bringing home to friends and family - and they are all alot more excited to have Him back than in lil ole me!
